SNYDER’S-LANCE IS NEW SLINGSHOT EVENT SPONSOR FOR ATLANTIC CITY AND TRENTON
TRENTON, NJ –December 11, 2013 - The Slingshot Indoor racers who have entered Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall NAPA KNOW HOW Race Weekend of January 24-25, 2014 and the inaugural Battle Of Trenton set for February 7 & 8 at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, NJ received some welcome news. Len Sammons Motorsports Productions has confirmed a two-race combined point fund plus a fast qualifier bonus for each event. The feature races at both venues will now be known as the Snyder’s-Lance Snack Bowl 25.
In addition to being the title sponsor of both races, Snyder’s-Lance, with help and support from Walt Bennett of Bennett Motors has established a two-race Slingshot point fund.
The top three drivers in the overall point standings from the two events will receive an added $500, $250, and $150 respectively. Drivers will receive points based on their qualifying efforts and feature finishes at both events to crown the overall Indoor Slingshot champion.
Kim’s Kreations has also provided added monies and will present $100 to the Fastest Qualifier for both the Atlantic City and Trenton races.
The Slingshot entry list is currently full with 45 racers for the NAPA KNOW HOW Atlantic City Indoor Race.
Entries for the first annual Battle of Trenton Indoor race are still being accepted. Potential racers looking to compete in Trenton are asked to enter before December 20, 2013.
Among the entries for the Atlantic City Indoor Race are last year’s winner Gary Hieber of Langhorne, PA along with runner-up Brett Bieber and third place finisher Anthony Perrego.
If Hieber can replicate his success from the 2013 Atlantic City Indoor Race in 2014 he will be in prime position to capture the newly formed point title. Heiber pulled off the weekend sweep last year setting fast time and winning the 25 lap feature, a feat that if accomplished in 2014 would earn him the maximum amount of points.
Bieber has mastered the outdoor circuit winning the 2012 and 2013 Tobias Slingshot National Champion will come to Atlantic City in search of his first indoor victory.
Perrego who will be looking to improve upon his third place finish a year ago, is coming off a huge Modified win in the Accord Speedway “Gobbler” held over the Thanksgiving weekend.
The two race indoor series will be a return to his racing roots for Perrego who got his start in Slingshots before moving into Sportsman and now Modified competition.
